Understand the scope of sporting performance and high-level competition in sports;
Understand how sports are part of a spectacle context;
National and international competitive models in high-level competition in sports;
Understand the different ways in which sports are organised in terms of performance;
Identify the legislation and main regulations applicable to the context of sports performance;
Recognise and characterise the main materials and equipment specific to the sport;
Knowing clubs, federations and sports organisations that represent good practices in performance sport;
Identifying the roles and tasks of sports managers in the day-to-day running of sports performance and high-level competition in sports;
Conteúdos programáticos
The programme content is covered in different modules (each module includes one sport) with their own specific features. However, the approach has the following common points:
1. Concept of Performance;
2. Concept of Sporting Spectacle;
3. Understanding the organisation of the sport in the area of sports performance (national teams, professional competitions, international club and national team competitions);
4. Definition of high-level competition and its status in relation to the specific characteristics of the sport;
5. The activities of sports managers in high-level competition and the specific characteristics of the sport;
6. Relationship between the different institutions (SEJD, IPDJ, COP, federation and club) with regard to sports performance and high-level competition;
7. Relationship between training and performance in relation to the specific nature of the sport.

Identification and analysis of organisational contexts, objectives, forms and organisation of sports modalities, in terms of performance and sporting spectacle. Understanding the origin and development of sports and organisational forms of teaching, training and competition in sports performance, interpreting the main demographic and geographical indicators of sports at national and international level, identifying critical factors and trends in the development of sports, and acquiring the foundations for sports performance management.
Metodologias de ensino e de aprendizagem específicas da unidade curricular articuladas com o modelo pedagógico
The main teaching methods used are expository and interrogative for the presentation and exposition of content with questioning, in a face-to-face setting, supported by written and audiovisual media. The development, in class, of individual and/or group tasks that enable the `discovery¿ of information and, consequently, its sharing with the class. In the respective module, the use of recent reports on sports performance and high-level competition in national and international competitions, constantly appealing to the student's position in relation to the reality of the sport.
Avaliação
Assessment is carried out according to the continuous assessment or final exam model for the normal assessment period.
Students who do not meet the requirements of the normal assessment regime will have to join the appeal and special assessment model.
Continuous Assessment:
Complies with the attendance requirements (3/4 attendance, 75%) and completes all reports required in this assessment model;
Completes four (4) reports among the six (6) modules - selected by the student themselves;
The final grade is calculated using the following formula: Final Grade = [(Report A) 75% + (Presentation A) 25%] + [(Report B) 75% + (Presentation B) 25%] + [(Report C) 75% + (Presentation C) 25%] + [(Report D) 75% + (Presentation D) 25%], divided by four (4).
In the set of four (4) reports, the student may only have a grade lower than 9.50 points;
Final Exam:
Covering all modules, it consists of a written test, followed by an oral test. Passing the exam requires that the arithmetic mean of the sum of the written test and oral test grades be equal to or greater than 9.5 points.

Observation, analysis and reflection on the roles and tasks of sports managers in the context of sporting events/competitions at a high level of performance and competition.
