Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the curricular unit's learning objectives

The family-centered philosophy of care is the fundamental reference for maximizing the potential of child growth and development within a specific microsystem insofar as it allows the analysis of the responses to the needs of the child/family and promotes the involvement and empowerment of parents in the care and reduces the adverse effects of child hospitalization. To answer the needs of the child and family, it is important to understand the evolution of child care, especially in the nineteenth, twentieth and twenty first century, as well as to know and interpret the child's health indicators and to analyze child-growth-enhancing interventions, In a situation of health, risk and vulnerability.
The development of communication, negotiation and self-criticism is fostered by the primacy of the partnership with parents/family, the promotion of their safety and well-being, as well as the defense of the best interest of the child. The analysis of complex situations, inherent to the care of the child/family allows the understanding of the influence of diverse cultural scenarios, the reflection of deontological ethical issues and the development of decision making and generating new ideas.

Teaching methodologies (including evaluation)

It is intended that students are able to develop the skills necessary to mobilize the theoretical and technical resources of the UC in concrete situations, actively participating in their training process.
It uses expository sessions, guided research in various documentary sources, including scientific databases, analysis of situations/problems based on the simulation of practical situations that aim to learn and explore methods, processes and techniques for applying understanding of specific facts, concepts and principles in child and pediatric health nursing (T; TP; OT; PL; S).
The assessment - 1 group written assignment (30%) of a reflective and critical nature, 1 individual written test (60%) and PL assessment (10%).

Demonstration of the coherence between the teaching methodologies and the learning outcomes

Given that the students are in the 4th year, there are pedagogical strategies of a critical and reflexive nature with the use of understanding and analysis of specific real situations and contextual problems, developing in students the ability to "recycle permanently", acquiring new attitudes and abilities.
The progressive appropriation of knowledge with the analysis of situations / problems and also through laboratory practices is intended to consolidate this knowledge, demonstrating capacities to learn and adapt to new situations, as well as the development of communication and outreach capacities of decision-making.
Through group work and seminars with analysis and reflection of problem situations students develop interpersonal skills such as self-criticism, communication and negotiation skills between peers and teachers presenting / discussing intervention proposals in the field of promoting well- Being of the child and family, maximizing their potential for growth and development in culturally sensitive contexts by planning parent / family partnership strategies and problem solving strategies.
