LO1. Introduction to the main theoretical foundations of management; LO2. Characterize the main activities of the manager and management; LO3. Adopt a global view of organizations in the context of today's societies; LO4. Understand the company and its main functional areas; LO5. Analyze and learn the main concepts and theories within the functions of the management process: Planning, Organization, Direction and Control. LO6. Apply basic management tools to meet organizational contexts.

The syllabus aims at addressing basic concepts in the management, the environment of organizations and the company in particular. From an integrative perspective, the main management functions (planning, organizing, directing and controlling) are addressed, contributing to the learning objectives as follows: LO1 and LO2: CP1 LO3. CP2 and CP3 LO4. CP3 LO5. CP5 to CP8 LO6. CP2 to CP8
Teaching methodologies (including evaluation)
Teaching Methodologies: M1. Expositional - Theoretical concepts M2. Participative - Discussion of cases and examples; M3. Active - Cases solved by students (group work); M4. Self-study - individual assessment preparation. Evaluation: E1. Group work (cases, reports, presentations) - 30% E2. Individual final test - 70%.
