Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the curricular unit's learning objectives

The contents of this area of knowledge in maternal and obstetric health nursing are based on the set of learning already acquired by
master students in the academic and professional dimensions of nursing, which emphasizes an interdisciplinary and cumulative perspective in addressing the different aspects.
The organization of contents is based on a comprehensive and complex view of nursing phenomena for women/couples/family in the process of transition to the climacteric and experiencing gynecological health-disease processes and discussed in the biophysiological and sociocultural dimensions. The construction of specific competences in this area of specialization is encouraged; it develops the capacity for self criticism, analysis and decision-making in the care process, particularly to the woman/couple/family from an evidence-based practice perspective.

Teaching methodologies (including evaluation)

It is preferred an active model that assigns a central role to the master student as an active subject of their learning, using different
teaching and learning methods and strategies. Sessions using theoretical and theoretical-practical exposition to carry out practical
exercises from scenarios created based on the characteristics of the woman/couple/family in the process of transition to the
climacteric and experiencing gynecological health-disease processes and the contexts of health care. Research, reading and guided analysis of reference texts, from an evidence-based practice perspective.

The master's student's independent work is intended to monitor the work to be developed in the curricular unit and prepare the evalution.
Evalution: 1 (one) individual work (100%), written version (50% and seminar presentation (50%).

Demonstration of the coherence between the teaching methodologies and the learning outcomes

It is intended that the use of different methodologies in relation to the teaching typology favours the master student knowledge of different syllabus, as well as develops critical analysis skills in an interdisciplinary perspective and synthesis and translation of scientific knowledge. Considering the level of training, 2nd cycle, the use of contextualized scenarios allows the master student to develop their individual and group skills. These capabilities are framed at different levels of the care process in an interdisciplinary logic, in an academic context, promoting their translation to real care contexts. The development of individual written work presented in a seminar allows the master student to demonstrate individual and group work and critical skills. Also, the ability to communicate their findings to specialists or non-specialists, in a concise and objective manner, in order to generate new ideas and learning regarding the conception, planning and implementation of the process of care for women/couples/family in the process of transition to the climacteric and experiencing gynecological health-disease processes based on the best scientific evidence.
