It is intended that master students make an appropriation, discussion and reflection on parenting as a developmental transition and new forms of care in maternal and obstetric health nursing, promoting active research from different perspectives, aiming at the development of cognitive and technical skills and relational one. It encourages the construction of knowledge in maternal and obstetric health nursing, that allows the development of analysis and decision-making capacity in the context of complementary therapies in the reproductive and climacteric cycle from an evidence-based practice perspective.

Teaching methodologies (including evaluation)

An active model that assigns a central role to the master student as an active subject of their learning is favored using different teaching and learning methods and strategies. Sessions using theoretical exposition and interactive method. Theoretical and practical sessions to facilitate the assimilation of knowledge and reflection on the relevance of complementary therapies.

Research, reading and guided analysis of reference texts, from an evidence-based practice perspective. The appropriation and integration of knowledge is encouraged, with the development of skills within the scope of new forms of care in maternal and obstetric health nursing, in the reproductive and climacteric cycle.

The evaluationt will be operationalized through the development of group work: Written work with a weighting of 60% and presentation in the classroom, with a weighting of 40%, allowing the acquisition of new ideas and learning.

Demonstration of the coherence between the teaching methodologies and the learning outcomes

The methodologies used are intended to facilitate the assimilation of knowledge and cognitive skills through participatory exposure, placing master students at the center of the teaching-learning process, promoting their own personal and professional development. The use of expository sessions according to the interactive method, as well as the use of document analysis, provide enrichment of learning through the use of different document sources. On the other hand, anindividual reflective analysis is promoted, in small groups, in the larger group and with the teacher, which allows master students to participate in their own learning. The discussion and analysis of documentary sources, in valuing evidence-based practice, are methodologies that promote the development of critical thinking, decision-making and the integration of scientific knowledge.
