The CTeSP in Insect Production provides specific training in areas and professional exits considered to be of high priority by the Institute for Employment and Professional Training (https://www.iefp.pt/areas-e-saidas-profissionais-prioritarias), such as areas of Human and Animal Nutrition, and Food Quality and Safety. In the area of Animal Health, due to the increasing demand and growth of the animal market, it is imperative to train specialized professionals with a multifunctional role, to cover the current demands and needs. This CTeSP is a formative offer with a great practical and professional component, positioning itself in a region where there is no equivalent training offer, with the offer being undersized regarding market needs.
