Learning outcomes of the curricular unit (knowledge, skills and competences to be developed by the students)

Work-based training (WBL) aims to apply the knowledge, skills and competences developed during the course to one or more of the practical activities provided for in the professional profile:

- A1 Building computer applications for IS management.

- A2 Designing and handling a database with a view to solving business or other problems and supporting the respective IS.

- A3 Implement IS based on web technologies, using classic computer systems and mobile devices, namely Smartphones and Tablets.

- A4 Configure and manage IS applications in organizations.

- A5 Design system integration architectures.

- A6 Manage, maintain and monitor systems, communication networks, servers and services.

Syllabus

The WBL involves using the methodologies, technologies and systems best suited to the nature of the activities to be carried out.

The methodologies, technologies and systems studied on the course are given priority, and it is accepted that the host organizations provide trainees with short training courses that adapt their skills to the specific context of the traineeship.

Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the curricular unit's learning objectives

The WBL aims to apply the knowledge, skills and competences developed during the course to one or more of the practical activities provided for in the professional profile.

On the other hand, WBL involves using the methodologies, technologies and systems best suited to the nature of the activities to be carried out.

Thus, the coherence of the syllabus with the learning objectives must be guaranteed by the internship Activity Plan, a document to be drawn up under the supervision of the internal and external supervisors and approved by them.

Teaching methodologies (including evaluation)

METHODOLOGY

The WBL takes the form of an internship, comprising three stages:

[1] Integration - getting to know and adapting to the host organization;
[2] Observation and Planning - observing the organization's practices and dynamics and drawing up the internship plan;
[3] Development, Conclusion and Evaluation - implementation of the internship plan.
At the same time, there are 30 hours of classes at the school, specifically to monitor the work, presentations and sharing of experiences between trainees.

The activities conclude with the writing, presentation and discussion of the final report.

EVALUATION

Final Grade = 50% Internal Assessment + 50% External Assessment

Internal Assessment =
10% 1st presentation + 10% 2nd presentation - Company +10% 3rd presentation + 10% 4th presentation +
10% if attendance >= 75% + 50% Jury (15% presentation, 35% report)

Conditions for approval: External Assessment >= 10 AND Internal Assessment >= 10

Demonstration of the coherence between the teaching methodologies and the learning outcomes

The teaching methodology is based on a professional context suitable for carrying out one or more of the
practical activities provided for in the professional profile. The carrying out of these activities has the
support of two supervisors, the internal one (school teacher) and the external one (appointed by the
host organization), who guide the preparation of the Activity Plan and monitor its execution.
Academic monitoring reinforces monitoring of work. In this component, presentations and mid-term assessments
help the student develop a better perception of the work they have carried out.
