Objetivos de aprendizagem e a sua compatibilidade com o método de ensino (conhecimentos, aptidões e competências a desenvolver pelos estudantes)

As a general objective, in this curricular unit it is intended that students identify multiple aspects, of a conceptual and practical nature, determinants of Quality in the organizations of Social Economy. As specific objectives, students should:
  • Describe the main stages in the evolution of scientific thinking around quality;
  • Defining quality according to a holistic perspective, according to the Total Quality approach;
  • Know the normative principles, criteria and indicators underlying the following models: ISO 9000/1, Social Security Manual for the Qualification of Social Responses, and EQUASS;
  • Explain the benefits and costs of quality management systems and their certification within the framework of social responses.

Conteúdos programáticos

  • Retrospective of the concept of quality: from quality inspection to models of excellence;
  • Functional framework of quality in organizations: the approach of Total Quality;
  • Normative references for quality management adapted to the organizations of the social economy;
  • Application of quality management systems in social responses

Each point of the program meets each specific objective of the curriculum following the sequence in which they are presented. It should be noted that the fourth objective will be partly implemented in point 3 of the programme contents, but it will be in point 4 that it is given greater emphasis.


Metodologias de ensino e de aprendizagem específicas da unidade curricular articuladas com o modelo pedagógico

The teaching method will be mixed by combining the theoretical exposition by the faculty with the active participation of the students in particular in the topics 3 and 4 of the programme.

The final continuous evaluation rating shall be determined as follows:
  • Individual written proof: 40%;
  • Attendance/Quality of intervention in classes: 10%;
  • Case study (including reporting and presentation in class): 50%.
  • The case study will focus on agenda item 4.

In examination evaluation only one individual written test will be carried out, not taking into account any other instruments.


Demonstração da coerência das metodologias de ensino e avaliação com os objetivos de aprendizagem da unidade curricular

The teaching methodology adopted respects the theoretical-practical nature of the curricular unit, having as a fundamental requirement to promote research oriented to practice. It is intended, above all, to stimulate the individual effort of students at the level of the acquisition of theoretical knowledge, by showing their understanding of the concepts, principles and requirements inherent in quality management systems.

Observações

The teacher adapted the teaching and assessment method to the context of distance learning, adopting the system of individual essays at the end of each topic of the program, instead of an overall assessment test. The individual writtem tests were performed using Exam.net.
