Learning outcomes and their compatibility with the teaching method (knowledge, skills and competencies to be developed by students)

This CU aims to support students in the development of a dissertation in the field of ESIC, in a coherent and appropriate way to a 2nd cycle of training, according to what is stipulated in the Regulation of Masters of the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém - Order No. 6945/2020, of 6 July 2020.
Students should be able to:
1. Mobilize and apply appropriate theoretical and methodological frameworks;
2. Build and apply information gathering instruments;
3. Analyse and interpret the information collected;
4. To identify and discuss axes of intervention in relation to the problematic, context and public investigated, situating the work of the social educator and attending to the interdisciplinary nature of this work;
5. Demonstrate capacity to transfer knowledge into practice;
6. To produce, in a reflective and critical manner, a document that accounts for all stages of the research process developed and to be able to present and discuss it publicly

Syllabus

Deepening and analysis, in tutorial guidance modality, of themes and theoretical-practical and ethical issues that emerge concerning the development of a research work in its different stages (review of specific literature and theoretical framework; construction and application of information collection instruments; treatment, analysis and interpretation of information; preparation of a final product, theoretically oriented and methodologically controlled, demonstrating critical and reflective analytical capacity; correction of sources and the corresponding standard of referencing; preparation of presentation and discussion in public examinations).

Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the curricular unit¿s learning objectives

Given the differential nature of dissertations and student profiles, the existence of a methodology adapted to each case is indispensable, obeying the provisions of art. 19 of the Regulation of Master's Degrees of the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém - Order no. 6945/2020, of July 6th, 2020.

Teaching and learning methodologies specific to the curricular unit articulated with the pedagogical model

Tutorial support sessions with guidance on the work path of each student, with answers to questions that arise, according to the nature of the Dissertation, its process and the characteristics of the student.
The hours (15h) foreseen in the distance modality will be carried out in synchronous mode, via the zoom platform.

Assessment

Assessment in Public Examination, according to the Regulation of Master's Degrees of the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém - Order No. 6945/2020, of 6 July 2020.

Demonstration of the coherence of teaching and evaluation methodologies between the learning objectives of the curricular unit

The students' work is supported by tutors, in periodic tutorial sessions; after completion, the work is presented and defended in public examinations in front a jury - in accordance with the Regulation of Master's Degrees of the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém - Order No. 6945/2020, of 6 July 2020.
